this is one of many attempts at shading which is one of my weaknesses in life drawing but i think it turned out pretty well, its about a 1 min drawin, compressed charcoal

hey umm im not sure how to use my art pencils XD how do you use charcol? im not ver use to it and dont find much use in using it either

well charcoal is very useful for life drawing because it is fast and visable to use on many types of paper for example news print which is really cheap, pencil is often to light and thin to use effectivly. with compressed charcoal which i find the best you can draw with your whole arm and really quickly as well as gettin getting a good range of tones. you can get charoal in a pencil form if you think you might find it easier. i dont use charcoal with my notebooks cos it just gets too messy... but thats half the fun eith it :)
